About Rob Lewis…
Rob Lewis is originally
from
Currently, Rob
performs as a solo act at Mint Tea
Imports, The Sixth Street Art Gallery (in Vancouver), as well as
freelancing for local bands such as Voxanova, Woody Hite, Johnny Martin, and
many others.
He is also an honorary
member of the Muttonchops, the house band for the Live Wire! radio show that takes
place at the Aladdin Theater in Portland, Oregon. Since moving to the Portland/Vancouver
area in 1997, Rob has performed with his own quartet at Jimmy Maks (jazz
nightclub), and also with local notables such as Terry Robb, 3 Leg Torso, Paul
Delay & Janice Scroggins.
On staff at Reed College, Lewis & Clark College, and
the Oregon Ballet Theater from 1997 - 2007 accompanying Ballet,
Contemporary, and Improvisational dance classes with electronic and acoustic
percussion.
Rob has accompanied
master classes by dance companies Paul
Taylor, Alvin Ailey, Kim Robards, Bebe Miller, Andy Wong and Martha Graham.
On staff at Marylhurst University from 2000 – 2003,
Rob taught courses in Improvisation, and Percussion Techniques to Music Therapy
students and also ran the student Jazz Ensemble, and gave private lessons on
campus.
